Unread RSS posts -- Counter on the app icon?

Not sure if this is feasible, but it would be nice if an "unread posts" count appeared on the icon -- in the same way that the unread number appears on the icons for texts or emails.

I have on of your apps for my iPod touch, I would love to see a little number pop up on the app when a new topic is added... Does that make sense? So I can see if there is something new at a glance, without opening up the app Thanks Barbara B.
Users would need a way to turn it off.....
An app badge for unread would be great.
No question. Also local username / password support, in case the RSS feed is a premium or has premium elements.

I'd have to support this idea. Other app development kits with RSS feeds support this sort of thing, such as the Taplynx API.
