How to add Facebook Group RSS Feeds to your App

Adding Facebook RSS feeds to your app is now simpler and more responsive in AppMakr.

The first thing we need to do is get the page ID of the page you'd like to make a feed for.

Navigate your browser to the page you would like an RSS Feed of and click on the profile picture.

Screen_shot_2011-01-24_at_4.33.19_PM.png

Replace your ID= number with the 202930534206 one in this URL:

http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=atom10&id=2029305...

Now simply load this into AppMakr as an RSS feed, and you're set.

Due to some of the content that might be present on the wall or page you're using, this feed may not validate on the simulator. This is ok, just be sure to test it out on your device.

Enjoy!

Jean, if it's your first time and you don't know how to publish an app, you have to watch the appmakr's tutorials.

Ok that's great Landi, thank you very very much!

It's quite difficult for me to understand everything here, it's all written in english so I do not want to be out of subject, you can delete my post if you want,

but I have one last important question... I've created my app and there I am (image)

Do I have something to do then? (in the apple website or in appmkr) or just wait for the app to be published?

Thank you, very sorry for my questions

As I am a newbie I got a last question: Can my users "like" my facebook page when getting to the link?

Thank you once more :)

Hi Jean, you very welcome.
Yes true the facebook feeds wont be showed up on simulator, it works just fine, keep in build to your app and do adhoc test to your device.
Here is your generated feed.

Even if the link works on my browser, I still have an error message.

Do you know why it doesn't work for my app?

Thank you

Hi Jean, what 's your question, make it full one.
Example that you are building an android or iOS app  and blah blah blah, the rss feed you are referring is not working on web simulator or adhoc test?

not sure if it works but I get the Facebook RSS put it through yahoo pipes and then into feedburner. Some of the feeds seem to show pics from the Facebook wall while others do not seem to but do when you click on the text.

I dont see this being resolved quickly. Facebook dont support RSS feeds as such. I have read a lot on this and the feeds has to be washed. Personally I wouldnt wait for anybody to get this sorted.

Please look at my post " Has the Facebook RSS feed really been resolved?" I posted the url's and am receiving an error. I get kicked out to the home page of my Itouch in test. I understand that the feed will not validate and followed the instructions. I want to republish my app and am holding off until I get a response for this issue. I would rather relaunch my app once.
