AppMakr deserves A LOT of recognition and promotion by the Apps that you help to make. But these are the wrong places. When the user logs in his/her Twitter account, a warning is shown to the effect "AppMakr is going to access your information". That is too strange to the user to the extent that it will scare many off. It undermines the utility of this function. I think AppMakr should be replaced by the App Name, which will be logical to the user.
Secondly, which is less of an issue to me but still not quite logical, when the posts are made to Facebook / Twitter, they appear to be made by AppMakr's FB/Twitter account. Logically, if a user is sharing and recommending a link, the post should appear in the USER's name. Of course, it is also perfectly logical to append a line in the text like "Post by App Name built with AppMakr", with appropriate hyperlinks embedded.
Thanks for looking into this.

Hey guys, an update to this issue. Changing the post name works in Socialize builds for Facebook and Twitter, but it does not work in non-socialize builds. Supporting this function in non-socialize builds is not on the road map to be fixed.
Hey Alpha, we're aware of that. It's a bug that cropped up a little while ago. You can subscribe to the release notes in the forum so you know when the bug is fixed, then you can rebuild and the fixes will be merged into your app.
Hey, yes, it works ! thanks for your help. However, it freezes everytime we share it via facebook. It is frozen after you type your message and press "Submit" it just has the loading icon, and loading continuously....
I think we need to find a solution for this.
Hey Alpha, follow this how to and let me know if you're able to change the name.

Hey Leiser, it seems that this hasnt been fixed yet, right?
My app still displays "AppMakr" in facebook sharing post.
any status updates on this Leiser or Jason? I would really like to submit my app by friday. Just waiting on this problem and the twitter authorize screen loop problem. Keep us in the loop. :)
yeah i think socialize perhaps came out abit to soon. I'm not sure but i just know there were alot of problems for non socialized builds since then. RIght now Twitter sharing keeps looping back to authorize app pages instead of actually posting. Facebook sharing doesn't change to your app name for non socialized builds and starting this morning I got the oh oh builds problems error message saying it should be back up within 48hours. The build error i expect once in awhile however this facebook once has to be resolved finally forsure for non social apps asap. Also Twitter was working before so im not sure if its twitters new policy change that is effecting it but Jason said he was aware. So im just waiting on those two things with sharing for non social apps and then i will submit my app.
Yeah. I wish it would get fixed because I've had to remove that functionality because I don't want the AppMakr logo appearing but the app name with it's link back to iTunes. But I don't think they've been able to get to it due to their development roadmap getting out of whack due to the socialize debacle. This is one of those "Fixes" along with the "Turn of Weblink" I wish they would hurry up and fix before moving on to other things.
I agree this problem still exists in non socialize builds. I just tested new build once with socialize and one without. With socialize it showed my apps name, however with socialized turned off it still shows appmakr.
Im using iPhone 3GS 4.0.0 and doing full clean installs. I've included screenshots showing both views of app sharing via facebook with socialize on and off. I just test and at 7pm tonight so it's still an issue :(.
Hey Jason,
Sorry to say, but this hasn't been fixed either. I've attached a screenshot of my control panel and a screenshot from my App. It was built last night with my App ID key included. This version doesn't have socialize turned on... and it's on iOS is 4.2.7, which is why it's working. Any idea the ETA when 4.2.1 will be fixed?
Have you guys tried since the 8th to put in your own keys, and rebuild with non socialize apps? This should be working, please let me know if now, and Please fill out a Bug Report, the more information the better when our developers are looking into the situation. Thank You!

Not a problem. Glad to help.
"Are you sure that your using the "App ID" in your customize settings and not the API key? Big difference...."
- That was the problem - sorry guys. I´ve missed that.
It works now!! :-)
Best regards,
Andreas
That's true. This will only work with Socialized versions of the app currently. If you don't have Socialize enabled, then I don't think it will work. Although, right now, if you don't enable Socialize, your App wont startup...
do you have Socialize implemented? Because Facebook dev keys doesnt work with non-Socialize builds. I am having the same issue.
Are you sure that your using the "App ID" in your customize settings and not the API key? Big difference....
Hi Charles,
thank you for your response.
I already set have the Facebook API Key at the bottom of the "Customize" page days ago and tested it. And i made a test build today - but it does not work.
On the screenshot you can see that there is still AppMakr when i submit a article to Facebook.
Thank you,
regards
Andreas
Hey Andreas,
This feature is already live. You can now enter in your own Facebook and Twitter API keys and when someone shares a link, it will like it's coming from whatever the name of the app you provided. You can enter the keys at the bottom of the "Customize" page from the AppMakr build.
Hi,
can you tell us when this feature will be released?
Thanks,
regards,
Andreas
Can you give us a date for this?
Thanks
I love App Makr!
-Matthew
I can't wait for this!
Hey Jeff - Yep, this is in our pipeline. We plan on incorporating an advanced setting where users (like yourself) will be able to enter in your own keys for both Facebook & Twitter, that way your app info will be displayed rather than AppMakr. Thanks so much for your feedback Jeff! Keep it coming :)
