Another way to get the ADB file is to download the platform tools folder by opening up the Android file in Tools. This will open up the Android SDK and AVD Manager. Click on the Android Repository in available downloads. Once you download it, you will see the adb file in platform tools.

@ Evan - those features (photo & geo) were pulled after the video above was created. These (and other) features will be phased in incrementally. We'll be sure to let everyone know when more features become available for testing. Appreciate the enthusiasm Evan! :)

Finally getting back to this. Since I have an AT&T phone, I had a bit of a learning curve getting the SDK running and the phone mounted. Drivers can be an issue, too. If anyone needs help, I can point you in the right direction.

It is important to not that you must connect your Android device to your computer (mount it) before launching the Android SDK...simple details that are left out are most confounding for those not familiar with Android. Thanks~

I must be missing something fundamental, since the adb just spins off something in the terminal window and closes immediately. Any ideas why?

Please note that I downloaded the latest SDK version r08 today but doesn't contain the ADB file anymore in the Tools folder.
@Lee Graham it's huge but really nice to work on. I struggle with carrying it around though so it gets used more as a small table then a smart phone. There is just no easy way to carry it and you also get funny looks when you hold it up to your ear to talk because it's so large.

Just wanted to make sure they were not blocking it server side just via the handset. I am using a Dell Streak from At&t for my testing but I was able to put a non-locked ROM on it so I can load apps.

@Jeff - When AT&T releases a phone the lock it down. I got my phone directly from Google unlocked, just dropped in my SIM from my iPhone and it works on the AT&T network unlocked.

The video won't play in Safari - but it could play in Firefox.

Can't wait to try it out!

@Jeff - If you bought your phone directly from AT&T (those bastards) =), they blocked the menu functionality that allows your to install app from "Unknown sources: Allow installation of non-Market applications"
I have a Google Nexus One that I got from Google that is unlocked. May want to get something like that or a Google Developer Device.
Cheers!

Why is At&T different? Is it only if the phone is locked?
