APPMAKR IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE....AppDrop!!! YAY!!!!!!
Wait, what is AppDrop anway?
It's our newest and super exciting feature that allows our users to download and install Ad Hoc apps minus the cords, plugs, and minus the headache of having to sync the device to iTunes. Note: Will work on all devices (3G, 3GS, 4, iTouch) running iOS 4.0 or higher
Why is AppDrop so awesome for AppMakrs?
1) No more dealing with iTunes for ad hoc builds. This means, as long as you have a strong signal or WiFi, you can install your app from anywhere!
2) 10 people from different departments want to review the app before it goes live? No problem! You can provision the ad hoc build just like you always have, with multiple UDIDs, and all you have to do is email them the AppDrop install link!
3) It's not instant, but it's pretty close. AppDrop install happens in a matter of few button pushes, and before you know it, you'll see your app loading on your device!
4) It's so easy to install, it'll abate any qualms you had about creating an app for a closed audience for fear of fielding calls from users asking what an ad hoc build is and how to install it. The possibilities are now endless; birthdays, weddings, bachelor/ette parties, anniversaries, schools, associations...
I know, I know....I had you at "No more dealing with iTunes". Well then, go ahead and check it out already!
Love the appdrop feature-works brilliantly, great stuff. Keep it coming!!
Cheers

Hello Adam,
As long as the UDID's of the other test devices are included into the provisional, you may use the same app drop link.

Hi Jason,
I tried to install "Red Thunder" on a 3G which I just updated to iOS 4.2.1.
It did not install, not even manually. These are apps available in the App
Store now. However, here's the screen error I got. When I checked Apple
regarding this screen error about "the entitlements not being valid". I had
read on Apple to go to iTunes Connect and deauthorize and reauthorize the
device and try again.
To be honest, I have not done that part yet (my partner is working on her
iMac right now and it's her phone). The funny thing is, another App
(iBoSox) installed just fine. There is something about Red Thunder build
#25051 that did not work. I'll have to fiddle some more.
I hope this helps you in some way.
Thanks, so far -- all of my Apps have made it into the App Store and I am a
happy camper. :) Thank you for the great service.
Hello Diana, I just wanted to check in with you. This has not been resolved yet, but I wanted to see if you were able to install the app manually.
Thank You Diana!

AppMakr Testers
Just when I thought things couldn't get any easier with AppMakr...
I found out that if I log in to AppMakr from my iPhone, and go to the App Builds page, I just press "Install App" once, and it'll work. I don't have to go Mail which will lead me to Safari for Step 1, and I have to go to Safari again for Step 2.
Thanks for the AppDrop!!

Hi Diana,
When a bug report is submitted to our developers, it is closed on my end but a new one gets opened in the developer program they used to track bugs. This is the ticket that I will use to let you know when it is resolved. They have made it a priority, and are working on it currently.
Thank You!

Jason, I will try this and let you know if it works. BTW, has that other
bug with the service UIBackgroundModes key in your Info.plist been disabled
or removed so that we can recompile and submit our apps? I saw my ticket on
the issue was closed and just wanted to know (I have rejected binaries and
am waiting for the word before I recompile and resubmit to Apple).
Thanks,
Diana

Hi Diana,
Can you test out to see if you can install the app the manual way of syncing app to phone via cable and itunes on the device running 4.1?
Let me know if that works.
Thank You!

In another thread, I mentioned that AppDrop doesn't work for my iPad but I didn't notice that before.

A great concept butts not working for me.
I tried this with build 22095 and got a link emailed out but also had an error saying that Safari can't open the provisioning file (step1)
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi Diana,
What is the build # you are trying when you get that error? I'll try on my image. No, you're not bugging us, lol. We actually appreciate the communication on the forum, and having possible bugs brought to our attention. Plus, believe or not, we also learn from you guys as well.

This works great on my iPhone 4 ... awesome!
However, even though my partner's iPhone 3G is added as one of "my devices" on Apple (in my Dev account and by UDID) we are being thrown this error when trying to install my RedThunder App on the 3G:
Native device used: iPhone 3G running 4.1 (8B117)
Screenshot attached.
Am I bugging you guys enough (no pun intended)? :)
