Congrats on getting your app into the App Store! Wanna see how it's doing?
All you need to do is log into your AppMakr account and hover your mouse over the app you want to check out. When you do this, you will notice that some buttons appear under the app name.
You want to click on the button labeled "Stats":
Doing so will bring you to the following screen where you will be given a graph and list showing a breakdown of your application's downloads and usage sessions:

I have a question: how do you calculate the "Sessions" number, presented in the Stats? If an user opens the app and then goes to another app (making my AppMakr app going into sleep mode), once he returns to the AppMakr app, will that be count as another session or it is counted only one time?

Hey Matthew,
The difference is "Users" are counted when someone launches the app for the first time. Sessions is every time they launch the app after that.
Can somebody clarify the difference between "New users" and "sessions". I ask, because I have no new users but 285 sessions.

I'm also not quite sure how to interpret the stats. iTunesConnect tells me there were 100 downloads/"sales", but AppMakr tells me 418 new users and 418 sessions. I have not issued any updates, so there's no complication from that... Appmakr, could you explain it again?

When you said
*A New Users counts when a user downloads and uses an application for the first time. Note: if an app only has 2 new users it will have at least 2 sessions.
do you mean that if they download it, it's 1 user, and when they open it it's another 1 user. Or did you mean the user has to download it AND open it for it to count as 1 user?

Hi All,
I was just looking at my stats for 247FitnessPlus which costs $0.99 and saw nearly 2000 downloads in like 3 days but when I checked iTunes Connect - I saw only 4! Bum-mer! Whats going on? Has anybody got any suggestions?

@Steve & Matt
The application_stats table only includes initial downloads and not updates, so the stat you see is only the unique 'users'. I.e. updates are not considered an extra download. Does this answer your question?

@Jason - would you mind answering my question in addition to Matt's? There is still a big difference between the number of downloads you are reporting and what itunes connect is reporting. Your stats are now reporting 214 downloads and Apple is reporting 329 for the same period - in both cases there seems to be a 115ish difference.

I didn't realize that you were an AppMakr publish. Yes you would have to pay the $999 for a rebuild, or you can self publish by getting your Apple Developer License (go.appmakr.com/adl) for $99 from Apple. Here is a link to the benefits of self publishing.

@Jason thanks for the reply, but doens´t this mean, that I need to redistribute this to apple and if so, how can I do this with the app - do I need to pay your premium pay, because the app was first distributed by appmakr?
Thanks, C

@Christian
The stats feature was implemented in June, so if you built before that, you would need to rebuild in order for the feature to show up. Thank You!

Hi, I don´t see the button, have paid apps from about 6 months ago. Where can I get the stats?
We do not include app updates as part of "downloads" as of yet . Another words a "download" represents a unique user.
If updates are a statistic you are eager to receive please let us know through our Feature Request forum so our dev's can quantify the interest from users! Feed back always helps :)

Does the download count include only initial purchase downloads or update downloads as well?

Any idea why your stats for downloads of my app are significantly different from what Apple is reporting in itunes connect? You are reporting 154 downloads and Apple is reporting over 270. And FYI for everyone looking at the "sessions" stats - if someone opens the app thirty times in a day but doesn't force the app to quit or turn off their phone then that will count as 1 session because of multitasking.
While we're on the subject of stats - if you're curious how many people have kept your app on their phone after the initial download you can go to the Push Notification button on your AppMakr dashboard and it will estimate how many push credits you will use if you send a message - which is a good indication of how many people currently have the app installed (and haven't disabled push notifications).
