Important notice from Apple regarding changes to binary submissions:
Beginning July 22, you will need to use Application Loader to submit your binary to iTunes Connect. Binary uploads will no longer be accepted through the iTunes Connect interface on that date.
Application Loader offers fast uploading, a more stable connection, and early validation warnings. You can now also submit binaries that contain In App Purchase using Application Loader. Make sure the status of your app in iTunes Connect is Waiting for Upload before you submit your binary through Application Loader.
If you have installed iPhone SDK 3.2 or later, you can access Application Loader from the Utilities folder (/Developer/Applications/Utilities/Application Loader.app). You can also download Application Loader from iTunes Connect.
If you have any questions regarding Application Loader, please review our Frequently Asked Questions or utilize the Contact Us system on iTunes Connect.
DUE TO APPLE POLICY YOU MUST USE AN INTEL BASED MAC(Power PC's will not work) TO SUBMIT YOUR APP FOR APPROVAL. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MAC, PLEASE CLICK HERE!
Your app status MUST say "Waiting to Upload" and not "Ready to Upload". If you app status says "Ready to Upload", please click on View Details, then Ready to Upload Binary. In order to be ready to deliver your binary through Application Loader, you will need to answer questions about Export Compliance. Your answer is no. Your app status will then say Waiting to Upload, and you can proceed with Application Loader.
Click here to download Application Loader. For information on using Application Loader, click here.
Once saved, open the file and follow the instructions to install the Application Loader
Once installed, open the Application Loader application and select "Next"
Enter your iTunes Connect Apple ID and Password. Select "Next"
After the application is done loading, Select "Next" to continue
Once your applications have been reviewed, select the application you want to add to the iTunes Store and click "Next"
All AppMakr apps have been tested on iOS4, so on the next screen click "Yes" to continue
Click "Choose" to select your binary file to upload
Select the binary (AppStore .zip file you downloaded from your AppMakr account) and click "Send"
****Please note that Safari automatically unzips the binary file, so you should download the App Store App from your AppMakr account using another browser, ie. Firefox
Your application will take a few moments to authenticate with the iTunes Store
Once complete, and your app package has been uploaded to the iTunes Store, click "Next" to continue
Congratulations, you uploaded your binary and completed submission of your app to iTunes Connect. Click "Done"
Now your app will have a Status of "Upload Received"
To check the status of your app, log into iTunes Connect, click "Manage Your Applications" select your app and click "Status History". For a breakdown of each application status, click here.

This is a MAJOR POINT not mentioned in the video. I'm a PC addict and never really used Safari before and was frustated that in Application Loader I would browse out to the file and the file was grayed out and I could not select it to upload to Apple. I tried extracting the files and rezipping them and shortening the file name. That didn't work so I thought my file transfer was getting corrupted somehow So I downloaded the thing like 8 times. It turns out you have to download the Binary File from AppMakr using FireFox or some other browser as Safari automatically Unzips all Zipped files.

There is a problem
Is there a solution?
@Alexander Richter: Did you change your Bundle ID after testing your app with the provided ID? That would explain the issue your having. The Bundle ID is associated to the AppID, so if you changed the Bundle ID you will need to create a new AppID profile and Provisional Profile.
The app name and AppID can be whatever you want it to be, and do not have to be unique, so you can use the same one multiple times if you wish. The Bundle ID is what needs to be unique.
I have installed the application loader 1.3 from the link above but i keep getting the " Error Connecting with iTunes Store" message! anything that I have missed? prompt reply will be very much appreciated! thanks!
@Tabitha and re:@Dan. The issue of the bundle ID is also an issue I am having. Having created an AppID with a Bundle ID different from the one suggested by Appmakr in the process, I am now facing the issue that Appmakr tells me that the bundleID doesn´t correspond with that of the app created in Appmakr when I want to publish it.
So my question is: Can the name I give the App within the Apple Developer site be different from the name given in Appmakr AND the AppID?
I simply want to make sure that I can still use the "NAME" I have given the App despite the issue of the AppID ("NAME" and the "wrong" bundle ID)
Anyone who can give me an indication? A bit desperate as I don´t want to loose the choice of that name.

Apple's Application Uploader requires a MAC computer. I do not have access to a MAC and I don't want to waste $99 fee! Help!!
Select the binary (AppStore .zip file you downloaded from your AppMakr account) and click "Send"
****Please note that Safari automatically unzips the binary file, so you should download the App Store App from your AppMakr account using another browser, ie. Firefox
What application file? Everything is greyed out?
@Philip. If you have upgraded to Lion, you have to update Java afterwards. This will fix your problem with the error message in Application Loader.
Hey I downloaded the binary file and now it wont upload. It just keeps saying Error Connecting with iTunes Store. How do you fix this?
@Tabitha you can only use each bundle ID once, the bundle ID must be unique. You need to go into your Apple Developer account and figure out which Bundle ID is reserved for your app. That is the bundle ID you put into the application loader.
Control click is always a right click.

But what if you are on a Mac? I don't have a right-click mouse...
To be able to upload a app you must compress it by right-clicking it and selecting Compress "FileName".

Hi,
I have tried downloading my app numerous times, but when it downloads, it appears on my desktop greyed out with a circle in a line through it. I can not select when I try to load in Application Loader either. Has anyone come across this problem before? I have tried re-building my app as well but that doesn't seem to work. Do I have to create a new app in my ITunes connect account too?
Please help.
Thanks,
Kaylin

Hi, I've been trying to upload my app. I used the Bundle ID com.mimimyne.econews which I'd used before. The status of the app is Waiting for Upload. However, when I try and upload using Application Loader it won't let me upload, saying this error message: bundle identifier: com.pointabout.OED4A8A9 differs from reserved bundle identifier
Can you help? I don't have a clue why it's saying I'm using com.pointabout.OED4A8A9 or what to do about it.

Hi
How long does it take for you upload the app after making the payment?
Thanks
Hello Neff Barrera !
Reason it happen is you only have cancel the waiting for review (rejected binary) ,you should go back at your App's details and do the following Ready to Upload This Binary.
Sending to you a sample picture.
Cheers App is up and running again.
OK, so i followed all the steps and made it to the part "ADDING APPLICATION" it was taking way to long so I decided to hit cancel to re-uploaded. BUT, it gave me a message saying that Application Loader will continue running and closed. Couldn't open it again, had to quit the program and re-open. Once re-opened it said "No Eligible Applications Where Found" I wend to check on the status on "Itunes Connect" and it says "Waiting for Review" DID MY APP SUCCESSFULLY WENT THRU?? Not sure what to do since I can't open Application Loader to re-do the steps. Please Help!! Looking forward to seeing my APP on the Itunes Store :)
um there is no @Kenny lolol I gave up and just paid to have it submitted to Itunes..
after downgrading to Application Loader version 1.3 all worked well.
Having problems with Application Loader. Always get "com.apple.transporter.util.StreamUtil.readBytes(Ljava/io/InputStream;)[B" error message.
Using 1.4.1 version
At this time we do not support xcode. It is something that we are working on. I'm happy to see that you guys are diving in and playing around, but you will have to build it through appmakr and upload it per our instructions for the mean time.
Thanks guys!
@Jeremy,
That is actually a setting in Safari's preferences. It's under the first tab, "Open safe files". If you uncheck that, it will download the zipped file.
@Zac,
I'm sorry we are not able to provide refunds, but if you need help in the future let me know, and we'll help you out.
Pallavi,
Can you provide a screen shot? Have you been able to get it uploaded?
I uploaded with application loader and I got
"The CodeResources file must be a symbolic link to _CodeSignature/CodeResources"
Application failed codesign verification. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate.
any thoughts on what to do?
Hello, there AppMakr Team - I'm getting a peculiar email message after submitting my binary file:
Invalid Signature
Make sure you have signed your application with a distribution certificate, not an ad hoc certificate or a development certificate. Verify that the code signing settings in Xcode are correct at the target level (which override any values at the project level). Additionally, make sure the bundle you are uploading was built using a Release target in Xcode, not a Simulator target. If you are certain your code signing settings are correct, choose "Clean All" in Xcode, delete the "build" directory in the Finder, and rebuild your release target.
I've followed all the steps and I assume AppMakr wouldn't have allowed me to get this far without finding any problems. Should I try rebuilding my app from scratch?
Hello people, when submit my app with Application Loader an error occurred ""com.apple.transporter.util.StreamUtil.readBytes(Ljava/io/InputStream;)[B" how can i fix this error ?
Thank's for help me.
Your on-screen help during the app testing and submission process is great -- and it encourages us to always use Safari when connecting to Apple. However, when we download the App for submission to the store using Application Loader, if you download the app in Safari, it saves the app as a file that Application Loader cannot recognize. So, you must download it in Firefox and then it works fine. I had to dig and dig and spend a lot of frustration figuring this out. You should post this in red -- like you do the Safari warning -- on the App Build page -- to please download it in Firefox or a non-safari browser. Would relieve a lot of aggravation in an other-wise seamless and well-done process.
Hi,
I have managed to upload my Application using Application Loader, Is it possible for you to refund my $30?
@ Leiser
Im very new in iphone developement.
Im trying to upload new version of my app as above process.
After uploading it shows Upload receives. But after sometime show Invalid binary.
Why it is happening
plz help me to get out....
Here is the Application Loader manual http://bit.ly/9M1UXm, see page #9 for the download link.
Hey i am experiencing some problems with the current version , (1.3)
Can you guys post the updated 1.4 application loader link?
i dont want to download the full xcode just for this .
@ Richard - The "binary" is the .zip file (AppStore App) that you download from AppMakr. That file is a .zip and needs to remain zipped in order for Application Loader to accept it. When the file has a circle with a line through it, that means that the file is no longer zipped. Make sure that your settings do not auto unzip files upon downloading, and then try submitting your .zip to Application Loader. Let me know how it goes!
Actually I have been able to download the app in the Build History, however it downloaded with a circle and line through it like there's a problem. When I go through the Application Loader to try and select the file for upload, it won't highlight to let me.
I am trying to upload the second version of my app to the App Store, but am completely clueless here. I see on my iTunes Connect account that you can easily add details for an updated version and then there is a blue button that says 'Ready to Upload Binary'. How do I get my binary though from appmakr? I don't understand how I would download it. I have been able to download a test build...but where do I get my binary from? Are there other steps I'm missing somewhere?
Alright. Fail. Sorry. I was using a Mac, which I never do, and apparently the download was happening every time but was not showing up in front of the Safari window, so I thought it wasn't working. Very sorry to have wasted everyone's time. :|
@ Ben - Try downloading Application Loader here and let me know if you have better luck.
I did the following:
It did not say waiting to upload. I clicked on my app in manage your applications, chose view details, then Ready To Upload Binary, clicked no when asked if your product uses encryption, then continue.
But it does not say Ready to Upload. It still says Waiting to Upload. But the Ready to Upload Binary option has disappeared. There is no link below that says download application loader. When I go directly to the Download Application Loader link, it looks like the server is loading the page, then the URL disappears in the browser address bar and the page is blank.
Please help.
Hello Jason !
I will sign up the form, thank you for sharing it,after that my iPhone app where published successfully and is ready for sale now on iTunes store ,i wonder how if i could make apps for Android others kind smart phones. For more i will stay with AppMakr updates.

Thank you,keep it up nice job.

@Jody
I just resent.
@Jason I paided the $30 using paypal to submit my app. I know I got an e-mail back asking me to email my phone number and a time but I can't find it anywhere. Could you resend that?
@Jody
No Problem :-). We list the 3rd party fees on the pricing page. http://www.appmakr.com/pricing/
* This option of our service is completely FREE, but third party developer account and app store fees may apply.
* If you are publishing to the iTunes AppStore, Apple’s Application Uploader requires a MAC computer. If you do not have access to a MAC, no worries – click here for additional paid support and we’ll do it for you!
We try and make the whole process from signing up to uploading your app to Apple as easy and intuitive as possible. We always welcome feedback from our customers on how any of these steps could be changed to provide a more pleasant experience. Please feel free to comment on anything you think could be changed along the way.
Please ignore other comment. Hours of staring at the computer makes a person go mad:)
@Jason Since I have a PC I have to pay $30 per app. Man that's messed up. I just dropped $100 to sign up for the Apple Dev and nowhere did I see anything on your website that said anything about this until I hit this problem. Also I have to wait until the work week to get this done. Wow.
@Richard
What browser are you using? Would you mind double checking to make sure you downloaded the App Store app and not the Ad Hoc app from the App Builds page. One more thing, make sure your browser didn't automatically unzip the file when you downloaded it. Thank You.
I don't know what I'm missing here that should be simple. I am using the Application Loader and getting to the step where I need to select the app file to upload, but it will not let me highlight the file to click on it for upload. This is the file I download in Build History when I Download App. Is there something I need to do to the file to allow me to upload it?
@Matthijs
Congrats on the purchase of your macbook pro, your life will now be complete.
@jason nope i wanted to send an app trough windows, now I have bought an macbook pro :P so a I can send my apps to apple.
@Matthijs
Are you saying that you also paid for the $30 application uploader assistance?
@Garret
Please check your gowingsandtigers email, a request was sent to this on the 7th.
+1
I paid 4 days ago because I have not been able to use application loader, but have not received support. Can you please publish my app for me
@ Steve & Alberto -- That's correct. You should select "no".
When Apple asks that they are concerned with encryption that is restricted from export - I've always clicked "no" assuming AppMakr doesn't use any military-grade encryption...
When ready, after adding application infos, screenshots, etc, it asks me if my app uses encryption.
I don't think so, I don't use any log-in form, or any buy button, or whatever could be encrypted.
Is there something we should know about our builded app before selecting "no" on the choice?
Thanks

Before you get to the Application Loader, you have to add the app. The video tutorial is out of date, as Apple changed the steps that now requires a App Name, SKU Number, Bundle ID, and Bundle ID Suffix. Are there any tutorials on what to do here? Thanks!
